Honduran Dairy Artisan Internship

In July of 2009 Daniel Alexander Matute Berrios and Otho Francisco Tercero Maldonado spent the month learning from cheese makers of Wisconsin. Interning with Sassy Cow, Roelli, and Cedar Grove, in addition to time spent with Professor Ranee May at UW River Falls the two learned many new techniques that they will be able to share with their dairy communities at home. Visits were also made with Joe Widmer of Widmer Cheese and Anne Topham of Fantome Farm, in addition to a visit to the Babcock Hall Dairy Plant. The program was made possible through the support of The Babcock Institute, the Dairy Business Innovation Center, Jane and Dan Carter, and the Wisconsin Department of Trade and Consumer Protection, as well as sponsor organizations in Honduras.
